Corrosion was found on the fuel tank panels of a Cessna 525A Citation CJ2 and repaired on site.

The corrosion was sanded out and the areas blended to the specification stated in the field repair. Eddy current NDT was then carried out on every blended area to confirm that the corrosion had been removed completely, followed by thickness measurements; anywhere left below limits was trimmed out. The area around the fuel tank panels was stripped back with paint stripper so the full extent of the affected material was exposed.

The fuel tank retainers were cut to size, sanded and painted, then fitted over the repaired areas and secured with additional rivets and fuel-resistant sealant.
